Michaël Verheyden

A graduate of industrial design at the Media & Design Academy in his hometown of Genk, former model Michaël Verheyden's pieces are unique for their personal touches: all of the designer's objects are finished, assembled, and packaged in his own workshop. Initially launching with a line of fashion accessories back in 2002 – which included collaborations with the likes of Rick Owens – Verheyden expanded into home accessories and furniture in 2009. The collection, which is produced with his wife, Saartje Vereecke, is defined by its celebration of simple geometric forms, minimalist lines, expert craftsmanship, and rich, natural materials.
