Moon Boot

The end of the ‘60s ushered in a fascination with outer space that influenced every aspect of the era’s pop culture. The imagery of the first moon landing in 1969 was broadcast across the globe, and the boots worn by the astronauts as they explored the lunar surface became the inspiration for an international shoe company.

Italian born designer Giancarlo Zanatta launched the Original Moon Boot in 1969, and it quickly surpassed all expectations of success. While their insulating, platform design has remained unchanged, collaborations with the likes of Dior, Chanel and Moncler ensure that the Moon Boot remains a permanent fixture on the fashion landscape.
