Designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, the sculptural Red and Blue chair from Cassina is an iconic example of the pure and rationalist forms associated with the De Stijl movement. The prototype was originally created in 1918, with Rietveld exploring an innovative approach where constructional elements are defined by color. Originally known as the Slat Chair, this lacquered armchair features a black structure, a blue seat, and a red backrest, and is now known simply as Red and Blue.
