Mytheresa's selection of Givenchy apparel consists of lavish and charming styles, blended with a gothic twist. The delightful array of women's clothing compromises active, bright materials crafted into startling silhouettes. The brand's romantic spirit is exhibited throughout their sharp tailoring and signature prints.
In 1952, Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy founded his fashion house - La Maison Givenchy. Over the years, the French label designed personal creations for iconic stars. The famous actress Audrey Hepburn was a long-time muse, ambassador and above all - a friend of the couturier. Together they created a unique and timeless look, consisting of modern, minimalistic and soft lines accentuating feminine beauty. One of the most renowned creations of them all was the black Givenchy dress worn by Audrey in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's; the silhouette that still today stimulates woman all over the globe.
Hubert retired from the fashion emporium in 1995, after 43 years of creating groundbreaking designs. From there on John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Riccardo Tisci went on to strengthen the globally adored label. The most recent, Tisci, enriched the classical brand ethos with more of an urban edge and went on to produce iconic designs, such as the Givenchy Paris T-shirt and the Rottweiler sweater. These fashion favorites are often seen styled with denim, sneakers and the divine Antigona bag.
We're taking fashion tips from the ladies in the label's hometown of Paris, who often opt for a relaxed, carefree look. Follow their cue in a set of ripped jeans worn with a Givenchy hoodie and a leather biker jacket. Remember to also add a pair of sunglasses to achieve maximum class. For further style inspiration, admire the likes of Emmanuelle Alt who is regularly seen in a similar style format.
Alternatively, go for a rock ’n’ roll influenced ensemble in a Columbian-fit t-shirt teamed with a lightweight chiffon mini skirt and thigh boots. On the chillier days, be sure to also favor an oversized tuxedo jacket with the outfit.
It isn't just everyday wear that the brand perfects, it also masters evening classics. Select one of the name's delightful midi dresses and correlate with a statement clutch bag and Shark boots.
