Valentino is one of the most iconic luxury fashion houses in the world, famed for its red carpet favourites and super-glam aesthetic.
To our delight, Pierpaolo Piccioli surprised his admirers with a fresh new take on the house’s poetic femininity by introducing sporty silhouettes in performance materials. With the first moon landing as a starting point, the Spring/Summer ‘18 collection considered the tension between the cosmos and the earthly, the utilitarian and the aesthetic – and the result was unexpected harmony. Technical fabric shorts and shiny transparent parkas provided counterpoints to lace dresses and floral-printed separates. We’re taking the cue and layering one of the label’s crepe de chine blouses over the army-green cargo pants.
