Valentino is by far one of Italy's finest fashion houses. At the mere age of 17, the designer left his home to commence his studies at the prestigious fashion school École des Beaux-Arts. On completion of his academics and after numerous stints at various luxury companies, he launched Valentino in Rome during 1959. The color was inspired by an entirely red set, that he saw when he attended the Carmen opera in Barcelona at a young age.
