Not only because they don’t have a heel, we have plenty of alternatives in flat-shoe styles, but because a pair of knee-high flat boots will get you through any social graces or wild terrain with both your feet and style intact. It’s the thing you buy when you have your first real grown-up moment, it’s ironically the thing you never wanted to take off as a child (wellies, thank you Saint Laurent for putting those back on our radar). Flat boots for women have been styled in countless varieties on the runway but lately, with the prolific use of creative layering, we have noticed less leg exposure, with flat boots being slightly concealed under gowns and longer-length skirts. One of the many fab things about fashion is that this problem doesn't matter much. Our lust lists start at the beginning of each new season, and end when said items are owned and loved. Over-knee flat boots are now well and truly on the love list, as is Stella McCartney denim, Dolce & Gabbana shift dresses and Missoni bikinis. What's on your list, both lust and love?
