The Ceremony tray is the brainchild of Ann Vereecken and Jeroen Worst of Studio Simple, who have designed this piece for Belgian brand Serax, with whom the duo has also partnered on a variety of utensils. Here, solid oak is finished with a matt varnish for a statement on both Japanese aesthetics and the rituals of day-to-day life, which span everything from tea pouring to serving dishes. Small, exceptional details – like the seamless legs added to the tray and the application of elegant oak – elevate this piece into something quite exceptional.
