With its feminine aesthetic and signature woven leather goods, Bottega Veneta is one of the most iconic fashion houses in the world.
It was the 1940s that Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier turned to this season – it was easy to come away with the impression that the models had stepped off the set of a vintage movie and onto the runway without missing a beat. There was a modernity to the timelessly glamorous styles, though. Exaggerated shoulders and cropped trousers, refigured in the finest fabrications, echoed fashion’s future trends while staying true to the label’s ethos of understated luxury. The label’s shearling-trimmed coat will without a doubt be a hit come winter – double-breasted and belted for a flattering shape, it embodies what Maier had to say about the show: "There is an ease to the sophistication."
