Handled time after time
Through the years, the handbag has been a fashion accessory worn by men and women alike, with a rich history dating back to the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance of the 15th Century.
Before the introduction of pockets in menswear suiting and pants, the evolution of the man bag begins with small purses as a means to hold coins and other personal items, often made of cloth and carried by cord or chain.
With the start of the Industrial Revolution in 19th Century England and the invention of the railway, the emphasis moved towards sturdier materials such as leather, with the introduction of larger briefcases and messenger bags used for traveling and work.
Today, the handbag takes on many popular forms such as backpacks and belt bags, becoming an essential accessory for every man.
