The Billy vase collection is the vision of Serax designer Marie Michielssen and the result of a creative process that was a long time in the making. Following the release of a series of ceramic collections for the Belgian design brand, Michielssen created Billy – a family of white stoneware vases united by a thread of oblique and horizontal lines that are combined with a hand-molded body and a distinct geometric quality. This large version of the Billy 03 vase stands out for its pairing of a conical core with a series of spontaneously raised bumps across the surface, with the final effect expressing a sense of playfulness and reflecting Michielssen's inclination to matching mathematical bases with more rustic and handcrafted accents.
