Sarah Burton, Creative Director at Alexander McQueen, continues to garner top reviews as she adds a softer, more feminine touch to the brand’s theatrical aesthetic.
Britain's incredible rainy summer is to thank for Sarah Burton's latest collection for house Alexander McQueen. It was during a day trip out of London to East Sussex that she witnessed flowers in spectacular bloom. Photos filled the walls of the designer's studio and set her off, creating not only an incredible collection, but a memorable runway show to showcase her work. “It was about Britishness, being in the garden, and the healing power of nature,” she said. The result: floral intarsia, colourful tweed and ultra-flattering silhouettes. Even the expertly tailored separates have a feminine touch. Balance the beauty with the label's iconic chunky sneakers or embellished leather ankle boots.
