Rabanne

Rabanne is known for its future-forward aesthetic. While the brand has since moved on from the use of unorthodox fabrics and constructions it was famed for in the '60s, it continues to push boundaries by fusing the off-kilter with the opulent.

Even those with the faintest interest in fashion will be familiar with the name Paco Rabanne. The Spanish designer’s debut show, “12 Unwearable Dresses in Contemporary Materials,” comprised styles pieced together from metal, plastic, and other unexpected matter. The collection divided opinion back in 1966, but it’s now considered so legendary that its designs are regularly cited in costume history books.
