Starting out life as a cult Manhattan store for those “in the know”, Opening Ceremony has since gone on to become one of the coolest brands in the industry.
THIS SEASON AT OPENING CEREMONY
Staging their collections as performance pieces, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon demonstrate that their clothes are meant for movement. For the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, this dynamism can mean fluid maxi dresses or velour athletic tracksuits – seeming opposites that are still quintessentially Opening Ceremony. A reference to American sports, the leather-sleeved varsity jacket with branded appliqués is an outerwear piece we can’t wait to layer over one of the logo-embellished sweatshirts.
THE OPENING CEREMONY STORY
Founded in 2002 by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (also the creative directors at Kenzo), Opening Ceremony quickly became a multi-channel fashion brand with numerous high-profile collaborations, a TV channel, an annual magazine and a cult main collection.
