Sophia Webster’s distinctive shoe designs are a confectionery dream without the crumbs. Her footwear comes doused in neon hues with hyper-distinctive embellishments: perching butterflies, dramatically sculpted heels, and dimensional florals. Thanks to her unique vision and business acumen, the designer won the 2016 BFC Vogue Fashion Fund.
As an art student in London, Webster was more interested in drawing the life model’s shoes than the model. Studying at Cordwainers at London College of Fashion and the Royal College of Art landed her an apprenticeship with Nicholas Kirkwood, who served as a mentor and helped launch her eponymous collection.
