Parisian brand Maison Margiela is one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses, revered for its ever-intelligent, cutting-edge design.
THIS SEASON AT MAISON MARGIELA
John Galliano’s take on Spring/Summer ’18 is about modern glamour for the travelling woman who needs to be chic-ready in an instant. Inspired by the notion of dressing in haste, this season’s key pieces are lightweight, layered and relaxed in cut. Statement ankle boots and crystal-embellished flats are effortless to slip on, yet come armed with outfit-transforming power. That’s our travel wardrobe sorted then. Bon voyage!
THE MAISON MARGIELA STORY
Although he graduated in 1979, Martin Margiela is thought of as the 7th honorary member of the Antwerp 6, a group of legendary designers that graduated in 1980 from The Antwerp Fashion Academy. After moving to Paris in 1984, Margiela began to hone his skills working as Jean Paul Gaultier’s design assistant. Four years later Margiela presented his first womenswear collection and the rest, as they say, is history. In October 2014 the iconic John Galliano was appointed as creative director, and in January 2015 he presented his first RTW collection, setting the tone for hugely exciting times ahead for the Maison of all maisons.
