Off-White's casual luxury is taking the fashion scene by storm...
In leading a streetwear brand gone high fashion, Virgil Abloh could be said to specialise in unexpected directions. Off-White’s FW 17 collection was inspired by an interview conducted with Raf Simons, in which Simons implied Abloh had “nothing new” to show the world. Abloh ruminated on this, appreciated it as feedback and opted to delve into that age-old question: is anything actually original? The answer: Off-White finds comfortable pacing in youth culture, but it’s the fresh twists that keep the fans coming back for more (and the rumour mills going about the designer being eyed for other houses). We love the latest approaches to sweatshirts that play with hemlines and branding placement. It’s the accessories that really steal the show, though: who watched the runway and didn’t covet the racoon tail-inspired clutches, or the tall black boots with “for walking” written on the sides?
