Japanese label sacai experiments with textures and shapes to create compelling clothing for the modern woman. Putting opposites in conversation, the brand revels in juxtapositions of fabric and disruptions of genre. Think deconstructed tailoring, playful reinterpretations of athleticwear, and a new vision for feminine dress.
Creative Director Chitose Abe founded sacai in 1999 after working at Comme des Garçons under Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe. Since 2009 the brand, which has expanded into menswear, has shown its collections at Paris Fashion Week. Its success has led to collaborations with powerhouses like Nike and Beats by Dre.
